My Momma is crafty too!

My Mom, and my Sister for that matter, are very crafty ladies, plus my Mom's Mom was a crafty woman too! So I am technically I am a 3rd generation crafty Momma!

My Mom has made some great things and she makes a lot of our Christmas gifts too I guess that's why I enjoy making and giving handmade items, as well as receiving them! I know how hard she works on them and I know that she puts a little extra love in our gifts!

These are a few of the things she made for us last year!

 She made this great dolly diaper bag for Delaney last year! 

(Delaney uses it to carry her babies around the house... not the dolls accessories or bottles or such the actual dolls... its too funny!)

She also made "Mommy and Delaney" aprons last year and put our names on them with iron on transfers!

She also makes really rad quilts! She has a great eye for colors and fabrics... 

I am so far the only one in our family not to receive a quilt... 

hint hint HINT!!!!!

So being a crafty, quilting Momma I asked her a while ago if she could make a seat cover for our car seat, it only has one year left before it expires but I wanted to update it and make it a little nicer looking. It was a blue jean kind of color but also had a kind of pink patchwork part on the original. So I brought her some great material and asked her to make a new seat cover.....

I was shocked when she sent me these pictures when she finished it the other night!

Pretty cool hey! (that cars fabric is everywhere lately isn't it... lol)

She just sewed the new fabric directly to the old cover, as I said it will be expired in a year so we wont be using it for any other babies (if we have them that is...). I love it I think it turned out great looks super masculine and Delaney loves Cars so I think it will be a hit with her too!

Have you updated an old baby item to reuse with a new baby or given a baby item a little facelift to make it more gender appropriate? I'd love to hear about or see your baby projects! You never know you might just get a little feature here...

Tell The Truth Thursday! Things that make me go hmmmmm....

I really don't get some people....

I deleted a few people off of my Facebook recently because I hadn't talked to them in a while or they aren't really my friends and why would I let them in on the things I do day to day or how my life is going if I don't know you or like you or if frankly I don't want to... 

So whats hard for me to understand is if you notice that I have removed you from my Facebook why would you go back and request me as your friend over and over and never even attempt to to contact me and say "Hey there how are you?"

This tells me that you don't really want to keep in contact with me you are either 1) one of those people who values them selves on how many friends you have and your just using me to keep "numbers" up there and you will never talk to me. or 2) your just nosy and you want to see me or my kids pictures or find out what we have or are doing and you will never talk to me.

If someone removes me from Facebook I'm not going to get all beat up about it, its an online community, not my real life. I know that it is a great way to reconnect (it's actually how I reconnected with my best friend after about a year or two apart) however I don't necessarily want to reconnect with every single person I have ever met, been introduced to, or went to school with.

How do you feel about Facebook? Do you keep it just for real friends or do you add everyone you know?

My Baby Shower...

Well I am clearly a bit late posting this one.... I had every intention on posting this a long while ago, if for nothing else to show you the great cake my Friend made for the shower, but life got busy and I kinda forgot I guess. So here we are late but better than never hey!

My shower was held June 12th 2011... yup I'm WAY behind!

There were maybe 12 close friends and a few family at the shower which was great, just enough to have a good time but not so many that I got over whelmed. We did the typical things of course they had set up the guess the baby food game, the round the belly game (where each attendant cuts a piece of ribbon off of a spool that they think is the closest to the size of the Momma-to-be's belly), we ate lots of good food, had great brownie cake (yup brownie cake!), chatted, took pictures and of course they had lots of great gifts to spoil Baby Max with!

 Amazing brownie cake made by my Best Friend... She is the only one who can make this recipe right, I've tried and so have a few others and yet no one makes it like she can! I thought this design was so cute! The laundry line was just too cute and OH BOY is right! What does one do with a boy?? I have never had much experience with baby boys I may be in over my head!

Opening the gifts! I am so lucky to have such great friends and family who spoil us so much! I am forever grateful for the baby gifts and all the love that they shared at the shower and of course everyday!

And here I am in all my preggo glory with all of the amazing gifts for Baby Max... 

I thought we were ready for him then... I should have realized that the excitement would double or triple in just a few months because now we are beyond READY! 

So Excited that he will be here sooooo soon!

I'm obsessed!

I have a problem.... I love PINTEREST!

I think that whoever came up with the brilliant idea to keep an online log of all the cool things you can find online was a genius! It's so much fun finding new things to pin, looking at the great things that other people pin, finding things you may have never seen before. I sometimes get so excited when pinning that I forget to change which board I am pinning things to and I later find random recipes in my party ideas board, or blog stuff pinned to my craft ideas board.

As an aside I have no affiliation with Pinterest and they don't sponsor me or even know that I exist other than the automated emails that they send me telling me that someone has re-pinned my pin or that I have a new follower.
