We get easily distracted around here...
It's easy for us to forget what day it is and what we should be doing...
I kinda forgot what day it was yesterday and so I kinda forgot to post a Tell the Truth Thursday...
oops!
But it was for good reason, we were at the Library for story time and we were busy playing...
Not sure what she is supposed to be but she sure is cute doing it!
Happy Friday!

Kids fun! Story Time!
Back in January we all went to the Library and got ourselves a card for the family... It was so worth it!
Delaney thinks that it is just her card but hey if that keeps her going back she can think its just hers forever!
We go weekly and get new books and a few movies... but the highlight is that we go to story-time! The Librarian reads a story or two and does activities with the kids, Delaney loves it and both kiddos get to interact with other kids.
So in light of story time at the library we have been having our own story time at home in the afternoon and I thought since there are so many great stories out there I would share our favorites right here...
My first choice has the greatest art work and the story is so cute!
It's about two sisters who find a "Bog Baby" and take it home... mom eventually finds out and they have to set him free after learning a great lesson. The ending is the best as the authors daughter gets to look for her own "Bog Baby".
The best part of this book is that at the end you find this...
You can draw your own "Bog Baby" and write all about him/her and send it off to the publishers. (Puffin Books) As our copy was from the library we just drew our "Bog Babies" and chatted about them.
And how can you talk about this story without talking about the art! It's beautiful...
I love the look of this book and I have to say that this is one of the things that caught my eye and made me pick it up... It looks beautiful and it was easy to have Delaney look through the book and find colors and shapes and choose her favorite pictures.
All in all this was a great book and we all enjoyed it! It gave us a great activity to do and it gave us a great story to talk about.

Make It Monday! Peanut-butter Cup Cake!
As I mentioned last week, we celebrated Robyn's Birthday! He isn't fussy so he usually just leaves the birthday plans to me and lets me make/plan whatever I want or whatever works.
This year with Delaney old enough to help me out I let her take the lead and tell me what she wanted to make for Daddy's cake and what decorations she wanted. It was adorable... she picked out the colors of the balloons and the color of the streamers and where it should all go.
She knew exactly what she wanted and just lead me with her directions.
She wanted a chocolate cake with peanut-butter icing... (I added some chocolate icing too, peanut-butter icing can be so rich.)
So I made a brownie cake... partly because I couldn't find a chocolate cake that really intrigued me and partially because I didn't have a box of mix... I love this recipe I have made it many times and dressed up like I made in the post you will reach with the link or just like the recipe calls for... either way they are in my opinion is the best of the best when it comes to brownies!
Then I made this chocolate butter cream icing... which yes as you can see in the link I used last year on Hubby's cake as well.
Then was the peanut-butter icing... I didn't have a recipe for this and I didn't know what was what when it comes to some recipes online.. plus as usual I didn't have everything on hand for most of the recipes... so what does a Momma do in a pinch??
Make it your own!
So here is my super quick Peanut-butter Icing recipe!
3 Tbsp Butter
3 Tbsp Peanut-butter
1 Tsp vanilla
11/2 to 2 cups icing sugar
3-6 Tbsp milk
(I based it off of the icing recipes that I am used to but added in the peanut-butter.)
Cream your butter and peanut-butter (much easier if you use smooth of course) and add your icing sugar in small additions as you mix. Add vanilla and 3 Tbsp milk and mix well. (If the icing is too thick add more of the milk.)
It was tasty and rich and was well loved! (Best part... gone in just 2 days!)
Daddy and his little girl loved the cake (we all did) and the boy well he looked on and cried the whole time we were eating... someone should teach that kid some manners... hehehe
We had a great time and the cake made the night!
Happy Birthday Hubby!
