Photo Friday! Butterflies

You know when how it felt when you were young and you find that boy across the room looking in your direction and you think "Hey he's looking at me..." and your tummy goes all funny and you blush and feel extra pretty for the rest of the day... Butterflies right!!

Well I'm not talking about those butterflies...

OK so looking at this photo gives me butterflies that just make me want to smile and look at the world a little differently...

Photo Friday! First Family Trip in the Boat!

Robyn's Grandfather has a boat its a nice boat but in the almost 10 years we have been together I have flat out refused to get into the boat as well I am afraid... ok not so much afraid of the boat more so afraid of 1) Throwing up in the boat and B) Drowning... both very rational if you ask me...

Either way if you ask any mother can the kids go in the boat and she says yes you better bet your behind that no matter how afraid she is she will be going with you because 1) She will refuse for her children to do something for the first time without her there if she can help it and B) Her children will not drown without her...

So on our last rip out to visit Robyn's family we went for a trip in the boat and it was FABULOUS!

So for this Photo Friday I have just a few of the 170 photos that I did take! Enjoy!

 

Well as you can tell neither of us drowned and even better I didn't throw up either!

Photo Friday! Grandnans Tomatoes

Robyn's Grandmother (Grandnan to our kids) is an amazing woman...

She looks so much younger than her years, has a heart that is bigger than you can imagine, she always has a smile for us and our kids (even after a knee surgery) and she has the most lovely tomatoes growing in her green house!

I couldn't help but photograph them on our last visit they looked so good (and the lighting was perfect for the photos too...) I was temped to set up my own green house and start growing my own, and well lets just say that someday this WILL happen!

My Mouth is seriously watering here...

Anyone have a good recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes??

Photo Friday! Chinese Food in Little Boxes!

I wanted to share with you a Photo Friday that is a little light hearted and a lot fun!
 My whole life I can remember feeling a little envious and a little silly watching TV and movies and seeing characters eating Chinese food from the tiny take out boxes... I can also remember my Mom saying "I'd love to have Chinese food in little boxes now..." for what has felt like my whole life...

So this winter when we ordered in our dinner this is what we received and I couldn't have been happier.... I was so happy I had to take a photo!

Simple pleasures I suppose...

Photo Friday! A Little Beach Get Away!

One thing you likely don't know about me it that I love the ocean, I can't imagine not living by the sea and the fact that I can see the water from my home and my second home (at my mom's place in Bay Bulls NL) and for that matter my third home (Robyn's childhood home of Little Heart's Ease NL) makes me a little giddy...

To me the world make a little more sense when I'm by the waters edge looking out at the waves or even just the little ripples in the bay... I say a little more sense because after loosing my father In-law so suddenly last month the world seems a little more than off, a little more than wrong...

The photos I'm sharing today are from a quick trip to the beach we took the afternoon after his funeral and it just seemed that the sun was shining for him, the waves were rolling for him and to be honest it put me a little more at peace with everything.

This little man is about one step away from crawling...

And yes we are tempting him with our phones... He just loves to chew and drool over them so I figured hey it works.

Mostly he just goes backward but lately for every 2 feet he goes backward he goes about 2 inches forward... I'm calling that progress!

Photo Friday! Gone Hunting!

So it seems that while I had thought that I had posts scheduled all this week while we were out of town visiting our relatives I didn't...

So since I didn't share them those lovely posts will be saved for next week... hehehe

While I was away visiting our family I spent one day with my sister-in-law and on the way back to my in-laws for the night we spotted some wildlife and proceeded to go "hunting".

This guy was trotting all over the community and I finally got him.... it only took 4 shots!

Photo Friday! Halloween Take 2!

As I have posted earlier this week, Delaney had the stomach flu on Halloween. It was so heartbreaking to have to take her to the hospital rather than trick or treating... so we persuaded our friends to hang on to a few treats or if they had a special treat bag done for her to hold onto it until last night when we went out for Halloween Take 2!

They were all so sad that Delaney was sick and that they couldn't see her and Max in their costumes that it wasn't hard to get them to wait it out a few more days... and save some left over candies!

So we made the rounds to all of our friends houses' (and even went to one of their parents houses)

So for Photo Friday I wanted to share Delaney on her Halloween Trick or Treating Take 2!

Max got a few treats too...

Plus My photog friend Seamus (of This is My Perfect Crime) snapped a few pictures of her too...

Photo Friday! Momma said there would be days like this...

Have you ever had your mom or someone else tell you I hope when you have kids they turn out just like you... well I have LOTS! 

It seems that I was a bit of a trouble maker... 

I spilled a bottle of green couch medicine on my moms brand new carpet, I painted her teapot with pink nail polish, and I used to cut the centers out of cupcakes and fill them up with orange juice. So naturally she wanted the world to get back at me.... 

A few weeks ago just as we were packing up to head to Robyn's parents for a weekend I had one of those moments where I thought OK this is the worlds way of getting back at me....

I turned my back for one minute and this happened to my Kitchen table....

This was done by Delaney with a screwdriver..... 

and for some reason all I can think is Momma said there would be days like this... (even if she secretly wished them on me...)

These two shots were taken as we escaped the city last week! Delaney kept calling the sun set the pink and purple sky and she said over and over how pretty it was, you know because her favorite color is PINK!

It was very pretty and relaxing. I love my time away from the city!

But real life often calls us back...

Photo Friday! One of the Joys of being a Momma!

I love being a Momma for so many reasons! 

(too many to share)

But one of the best reasons is because I get to be a kid still again!

Kind of a silly reason... and I might be the only Momma who will openly admit that to the world. I may also be the only Momma in the world who recomends people buy Playdough for her child... and this is why. 

Cause it's so darn fun for me too!!

This sundial is part of a small monument in The Botanical Gardens here in St. John's, it says that it was donated  in memory of a young lady by her friends at the University. 

I love this monument I think the sentiment is so beautiful, and the crafts work on it is amazing as well, the patina on it from its age is just beautiful.

When I saw it I had to take a photo! 

I just couldn't walk past it without capturing it.... Do you ever get that feeling when you see something? That feeling that you need to get a photo of this, a memory of this item as random as it might be....

Photo Friday! Delaneys Bugs!

Delaney has developed a fear of bugs.... and in order to help her get over it her Nana (Robyn's mom) got her a jar and helped her collect some bugs to show her that they just aren't scary...

I love how proud she looks to be holding her bugs!

You can't see them but they are in there...

One aphid, one spider, two flies and later a worm as well...

She was so proud of her bugs and it really helped her forget that bugs are scary....  

(she cried and cried when she had to let them go...)

so much so that she now has a spider friend outside our window that she talks to everyday.

I may be biased but I think shes adorable and I may be guilty of posting far to many pictures of this gorgeous child but how can this mot make you smile.....

This child lives for music.... 

Here she is listening to Aunties MP3 player.... She does this all the time she holds the earphones to her head and listens and sings along!

Oh how she puts a smile on my face....

Photo Friday! Hearts Ease Beach!

My In-laws live in a place called Little Hearts Ease... 

It's about 2 hours drive from our home and it is one of my favorite places... 

If you go back through past Photo Friday's you will find many of the pictures are from there... 

It's quiet, it's on the ocean and you can be outside all the time! 

Rain or Shine, snow or sleet it's a beautiful place! 

Its a place where I can think and breath and just relax!

This is one of the beaches in the area, it's great for a picnic, or just a walk, or for dipping ones toes in the ocean (all though my husband thinks I'm crazy when I do)!

So here it is in all it's glory Hearts Ease Beach in Little Hearts Ease NL!

Just looking at this makes me wish I were there... and it makes me a little more relaxed too... even for just a minute...
